**Self tinting film** Could window tinting film be put on tail lights to give it a smokey look?

The films of tinting paper you get at autozone. Could they be used on tail lights to give it a smoked look?**Self tinting film** Could window tinting film be put on tail lights to give it a smokey look?
if u want a smoked look for your tail light you could take them to a local auto paint shop. tell them u want to tint them. they could tint them to a black out or just a very light tint.depending on how dark you want them. how they do this is they paint your tail lights with a desired amont of black and clear-coat.

it works me and like all of my friends did it last year in auto body and paint class.

and ya man titnted tail light do look really cool
No that is a NO NO NO NO laws are strict on the backend of a car lighting systems. So don't do it ok?**Self tinting film** Could window tinting film be put on tail lights to give it a smokey look?
I wouldn't

1. it's not safe

2. it's not legal

3. it will come off in a few days.

But hey, that's just me.
The curved areas would NOT hold the tint well at all!!!! Air, dust, water, ect. ect would get on the edges and no matter what you would do. it will peel off and look HORRIBLE! Certainly not a good idea! Plus your guaranteed to get harrassed by cops!**Self tinting film** Could window tinting film be put on tail lights to give it a smokey look?
I once purchased a 1987 Firebird Formula with tinted tail lights. Look cool! But, after the third time in an hour, seeing in my rear view and hearing the screeching of tires from the car behind me when I decided to slow down they were hastily removed and discarded in the trash of the next gas station.
