How hard is it to put window tinting on my car?

What are the regulations, is it worth getting it professionally done and how much do you think it is?

It is definitely worth having it professionally done. Most windows now are not just flat pieces of glass, and with the curves on them, tint needs to be cut a specific way to make sure it ends up fitting properly after installation. By the time you pay for the tint you need for a self install, it is just not worth the aggrivation to do it yourself, and if you mess it up, which is easier to do than most people imagine, you need to go pay more. Cost will depend on where you are, but for installed tint, you should not expect to pay more than $150-200 for most cars, and less than that in some areas.
I totally agree with Rafael. You can drive around and see which tint jobs are done by amateurs - they just look crappy. I had my last car done by LA Tint and it looked great for all the years I kept the car. If I wanted this done, I would definitely NOT do it myself.How hard is it to put window tinting on my car?
I would suggest you have it done professionally, Before you do, check with your state laws regarding window tint. Some states have a minimum visibility percentage where they can actually check it with a meter designed for this. It is usually done during your annual state vehicle inspection, if it doesnt meet regualtions, your vehicle doesn't pass inspection and you must remove it. Also, some states do not allow tint on the driver's or passenger side window or on the rear windshield. As I stated earlier, check with your state's laws regarding window tint. I have had the displeasure of failing a vehicle inspection due to window tint, the customer got mad, but its my inspection license and a stiff fine if I do not follow the regulations and get caught.
Go to a shop that specializes in window tinting. Look in the phone book under Automobiles then go to window tinting. Look for a shop that guarantees their work and don't be shy about asking how long they have been in business and for references now, not references two or three days later.
