Window Tinting??

I have a 1999 Honda Civic EX Coupe...Looking for something to do to make it look better...

Is the only type of window tinting done with a film that is applied from the inside??

Also would you recommend doing the entire vehicle...Front and rear windows and back window...How much would it all cost??

I know there are restrictions on how tinted your windows can be...I live in NY and I know that they are pretty strict on how dark it can be so do you think a cop driving down the road would pull me over and how much is a normal ticket for window tinting...Thanks|||their is legal limits just on the 2 front windows and it is 35% .

ask some one at pep boys or at the shop that you take it to.

do it your self is about $20 a roll and you will probaly need 3.

this is a pain in the asss and is very hard to do right.

I say save up you mony and get a shop to do it. they will garentee their work and they use better film than you can buy from pepboys. the last time I got it done was 5 years ago and it was $260 for 5 windows. worth every penny if you ask me.

I like the look of the civic tinted out. Good luck|||All states do not allow after-market tint on the front window below the AS-1 line. Window tint is commonly applied on the inside of the window. Do not use any ammonia based cleaner on it. You can do it yourself, but you'll need some practice and may need to re-do a few windows. Just follow the directions carefully. The tint itself is cheap. The installation is where the time and money get expensive.

And yes, you can get pulled over just because the windows look too dark. The cops carry tint meters with them. You can find tint regulations for your state by searching google.|||Yes, tinting is done with film. YEARS ago, there was a spray-on, do-it-yourself tint kit, but the results were not very pleasing to the eye.

Most cops understand that light tinting will help save your interior material from sun damage and reduce the heat on your arm, so they will not usually write you up for that unless you draw their attention by speeding or other dangerous driving.

I have light tinting on my truck and have not been stopped in 7 years, so I think it depends on your driving more than anything else.

It's the TOTALLY blacked out or very DARK glass that will get you ticketed instantly.
