I have been quoted 140 and 170 for windiw tinting my car, the 140 tints the window untill under the window sill but looks great, the 170 guy takes out the full glass but tints it ryt to the bottom, my question is what are tge benefits of tinting all the way down?? Which one should i go f0r?? And anything else i should know about window tinting as im a noob to tinting??|||How they tint is not the variable in cost for the installation. The key issue is the type of film being used.
At minimum you should get a high performance film that blocks more heat and is color stable. Check LLumar ATR at http://www.llumar.com
My guess is the lower price guy is selling dyed film that may turn purple or get lighter quickly.
Do some more homework and call you local LLumar dealer.|||the more the tint covers the cleaner its gonna look and the darker its gonna be.......i would most likely go with the 170 guy or you can take a shot at doing it yourself for a lot lot cheaper before you take it into a shop and as for having to know things make sure you obey your state custom laws cause a lot of places have limits on how dark your tint can be or where you can put it i live in new jersey for instance and your not allowed to have tint on your front windows or your windshield at all but you can apply it to the read windshield and back windows as dark as you want so check up on stuff before you cause yourself a lot of hassle
