Is it better to purchase a less expensive car at the dealership then have them add on a sunroof or to purchase a more expensive car with an existing sunroof from the factory? Is it still true that when you add a sunroof to an existing car they tend to leak? The same question goes for window tinting. Please help!|||typically, aftermarket sunroofs are known to leak. That isn't to say that they all do. It's all about the quality of workmanship and quality of sealing material. The problem is, they have to cut a hole in the roof. Cut too big, oops.....
Window tint is a different story. Aftermarket tint can be better than original equipment, and cheaper. Llumar and Solar Guard are two trusted names. Use a reputable installer, not the cheapest you can find.|||Get the sunroof from the factory, homemade ones tend to leak. I would also suggest getting the tint from the factory as well. IT may be more expensive, but in the long run, you won't have to worry about bubbles, etc. The guy at the tinting place actually told my friend he had to strip off the defrosting strips from the rear window to have i tinted. That does not sound like a good idea!
Hope this helps!|||it would cost alot more to add sunroof, they have to cut and work with metal and it takes a long time, I am guessing here, but it'll cost 2000 to 3000 to add sunroof
find cheap window tinting shops, there are also people who can go to your house to tint your car, check creigslist, or newspaper or car for sale ads
sunroofs tend to break, and very costly to fix, leak is not really a problem|||I have had a couple of sunroofs added and had no water leak problems whatsoever so I would say that it all depends who installs it for you, as far as window tinting the factory isn't as dark as most aftermarket tinting and it's built into the glass where as aftermarket tinting is paper put on the inside of your glass that gets scratches in it easily when cleaning it.|||The factory haas better Quality Cintrol and and their people put in 100s per day and deluge the car under high pressure, the dealer does 1 per week, finishes the job and tests with a water hose if it doesnt leak in 10 seconds it works.Get the Facory option, it's under warranty, not a promise.|||Always go with a factory sunroof. When you get your car tinted make sure its legal. The police write a lot of tickets for dark tint.|||it is always better to buy a car that have sun roof and assories from the factory.
