What is the legal limit for car window tinting?

I live in Tampa, FL and I want to get the windows on my Altima tinted. I was wondering what the legal limit was for the front and back windows, and can you get the rear window and windshield partly or entirely tinted? I want it as dark as it can be. But I don't want to get pulled over constantly.|||In Texas it can't go past 25% My husband has a limo tint at 80% YES he gets pulled over but he works for the city so no tickets unless it's a trooper...Here you can get all the other windows limo tint if you want it's legal but not the front ones and on your windshield there is a T (ASI)in the glass behind the rear view mirror you can't tint below that.

Plus a an illegal tint ticket is only $135.00 cheaper than removing the tint at $60 replacing at $60 legal tint an court fees of $95..You have to provide proof of tint removal or replacement..Yes..1 Trooper ticket so far..

AND YES YOU CAN TINT PART OF YOUR WINDSHIELD

Glasses aren't going to keep you safe from UV rays which can cause cancer ..Drivers are prone to skin cancer in their arms and ears YES the left side...Tint helps keep these rays from entering and affecting your skin over time, especially for an avid driver.

|||P.S. Limo tent IS NOT 20% Its 5%. that means 5% of light comes through... LOL... Source....I tint cars

|||In Oregon, legal limit is 30%. I got 10%. You just need a prescription or a doctors note to give the tinting agency regarding your eyes or skin sensitivity with sunlight. They will tint it up to 10%. You keep that prescription in your car in case you get pulled over for it. Done deal...

|||Actually in Oregon the legal limit on cars is a 50% film with windows (glass/film) metering no darker than 35% Visible Light Transmission (VLT). SUV's can have windows dark as you want in the rear as long as the front windows still meter 35%! Privacy film is 5% VLT

|||it is 35.25% where i stay at and that is in lumberton N.C|||you have to check with local shops or better yet, the local police departments. They will be able to tell you what the limit is. It varies by state.|||Dont do it. First you can not tint windshields in any state. By tinting you windows you are limiting visability from the vehicle. Let's face if you live in FL so you are wearing sunglasses, are you going to take them off in your tinted car? No probably not which means you are techincally double tinting.

Just stick to your sunglasses and save your money.|||call a tinting shop and they can tell you
